The entire book is sacred.
* What does it mean to liken unto the scriptures?
Applying the scriptures to yourself and your life.
* What is one thing you have found in the scriptures that you continually apply to yourself?
*What is Israel?
The Lord's covenant people.
The descendants of Abraham and Isaac.
1st Nephi 20:
1-2:
When we are baptized, we are then a part of the Lord's chosen people, the House of Israel.
4:
* What is the Lord saying?
He knew that some of us would be stiff necked.
We would take on the covenant but we would be stubborn, some would fall away and others would be hypocrites.
14,16,20:
* How does the Lord help them become more movable and obedient?
Run from Babylon.
When you do not honor your covenants, you are of Babylon or the world.
* How do you step out of Babylon and into the House of Israel?
Be in the world but not of the world.
* What does the Lord want us to do in order to be in the House of Israel?
- Keep and honor our covenants.
- Repent
* The rewards?
- Eternal Life.
- Exaltation.
When you obey your covenants, you are endowed with power from on high. You are never beyond hope, there is always a turning point.
1st Nephi 21:
The Lord will never forget his covenant people.
* How has he not forgotten us today?
- Scriptures
- Prophets
- Families
- Will raise up a mighty nation among the Gentiles.
* What are YOU doing to help gather Israel?
